    A: Kipling was founded in 1987. The original idea? Creating a range of backpacks, starting from authentic, quality with a touch of fun and adventure. Set out from the fashion city of Antwerp, Belgium, Kipling conquered the world. Today, Kipling is a lifestyle brand, at home in over 55 countries. The products are driven by design and spread across many categories.

  • Q: Where does the Kipling name come from?
    A: In the early days, when the designers were looking for the perfect brand name, they wanted to find a name that everyone could pronounce, wherever they were. A name that did not have any strange or unexpected meanings in another language. Kipling came from the author of "The Jungle Book", Rudyard Kipling, and it brings the monkey into the story.

  • Q: Why is the monkey on every bag?
    A: Why attach a "monkey" to the bags? Whenever you think of Kipling, you think of the monkey. Of course the brand name "Kipling" and Rudy Kipling's famous work "The Jungle Book" give Kipling the perfect connection. Monkeys are symbols of fun and adventure, so the monkey naturally became the brand's mascot. And not very much later, it became the monkey key ring. Every Kipling monkey is named after an employee from somewhere around the world. Every collection has its own unique monkey! The monkey has definitely become a collector's item for anyone who is fun-loving and young at heart?We already know the of Kipling addicts who own no less than 425 monkeys!

  • Q: How should I care for my Kipling Product?
    A: Thank you for purchasing Kipling. Here are the cleaning instructions as recommended for best performance of our bags.
    Clean the outside fabric with a slightly wet cloth.
    Wipe in the direction of the fabric.
    Do not bleach.
    Do not soak in water.
    Hang away from direct sunlight to dry.
    For leather bags from CLUB collection: Our leather bags have been made with care from genuine leather.The leather texture is naturally generated and will develop a rich patina over time. Any variations in the color and grain are a result of the natural characteristics of the leather. Keep your bag dry and avoid contact with damp or wet surfaces. Limit the exposure to direct heat or sunlight. Do not use any chemical cleaners to care for this product.

  • Q: When traveling on airlines, when can I carry-on my bag?
    A: Most airlines have both a size and weight restriction for all carry-on luggage pieces. Carry-on standards vary from airline to airline; therefore, travelers are advised to contact their airline or refer to their airline's website prior to departure to ensure the size and weight standards are met.   • Q: How long is my Kipling product under warranty for?
    A: The Kipling limited warranty covers any defects in materials or workmanship for one year from date of purchase. During the warranty period, at our option, we will repair or replace your bag (with an equivalent bag if your bag is no longer available) if you return the bag to the Kipling Warranty Service Center postage prepaid, together with proof of purchase. This warranty does not cover damages that result from accident, misuse, abuse (including damage caused by airlines or other carriers) normal wear and tear or theft. Incidental or consequential damages, such as damage to or loss of, the contents of a bag, loss of use of time or similar expenses are not recoverable under this warranty. Locks are intended only to prevent accidental opening and cannot necessarily prevent theft of product or its contents.
    For assistance and return instructions of a Kipling product that needs repair within the warranty guidelines, please contact the Kipling Warranty Service Center at 866-798-0102 x6233. The center is open from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM EST for assistance.
    This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other legal rights which vary from state to state. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

  • Q: Just what does the warranty cover? What doesn't it cover?
    A: The Kipling warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship. Things that are not covered are normal wear and tear (abrasions/scratches from heavy books or daily use) or accidents (bag was ripped by airline during travel).

  • Q: If an item goes on sale that I just purchased, can I get a credit for the price difference?
    A: If we make a permanent price reduction on a product featured on our website, you may request a one-time price adjustment on full price merchandise within 15 days from the ship date. This policy is only applicable to product listed on Kipling-USA.com. Items not purchased at full price are ineligible for price adjustments. Note that limited time promotional sales prices are not permanent price changes. Contact our Customer Service Department at 866-376-4185.
