Comments about Kipling Alcatraz II Backpack with Laptop Protection:

I bought this for frequent traveling for business and leisure travel; I have a bad back and needed something roomy with multiple accessible pockets and organizers that I could wheel -- this fit the bill.

Unfortunately the retractable single-pole handle is flimsy and unstable, and began not fully retracting the third time I used it. Only with repeated attempts pushing and pulling up and down, while pushing the lowest stop-button in, would it fully retract. It got worse with time -- at first it was one or two attempts, now it could be 15 before it finally goes. I am returning it and will not buy something with a single-pole handle again.

Anyone who travels a lot will know you are constantly extending and retracting a wheeled onboard piece, moving around an airport with stairs, in and out cars and taxis, and then walking distances. And at almost 6 pounds empty, this bag also gets heavy when you do have to lift it and carry it going up and down stairs, etc.

I also broke one of my rules about traveling onboard luggage that you will be going in and out of alot while in transit - no overhanging flaps or buckles to get into a pocket. I regretted it immediately, since this has a flap that covers the main compartment that must be unbuckled and raised, and the buckle gets in the way of the front pocket, and has to be lifted up to access that. It's a little thing that becomes extremely annoying when you are in and out of the compartments constantly while en route or with regular use as a daypack.
