You can use this as a back pack. Pull the shoulder strap to it's fullest length. Undo one side of the shoulder strap. "Sew" it through both handles. Now, lift the bag by the left and right shoulder strap, with the handles at the center point of the strap. The bag should be hanging by that center point. The mount it on your back just like a back pack! Adjust to your comfort accordingly! I also have a phone case with a clip that I attach to the many "snap" on areas of the bag!

SO cute and stylish, while being very functional. I was looking for a cute, light bag to carry my iPad along with my regular purse items, and this bag fit the bill perfectly!! Absolutely perfect design with tons of pockets, sits well cross-body as well as over the shoulder or on my elbow...LOVE!! Perfect for running errands with kids, too!! This was my first Kipling bag in True Blue, a beautiful blue that is perfectly neutral and goes with everything! I have since bought 8 more Kipling items, some for myself and some as gifts, and everyone loves them. I can't say enough how much I love these bags!!

I am a handbag junkie; however, I end up hating most bags I buy. I love this bag! I have it in three colors and and I'm planning for a fourth! It's a great size with lots of outside pocket which are essential for me. I'm not small and the adjustable strap fits cross body which is a plus. The only tiny, tiny complaint I have is the velcro pockets close so well that they are a touch hard to pull open; so I don't use them for things I need often. If you're thinking about it - buy this bag!

The Defea bag is brilliant! I was already a lifetime fan of Kipling bags, owning 2 Becky, a Fairfax, Haley, Aly, and a Morrisey, but the Defea is probably the most useful in terms of every day. The size is not too small, and not too large, and the various compartments makes things very organized. Also, I'm a plus size woman who likes to wear bags cross-body, and it's difficult to find straps long enough for me, but Kipling's straps are adjustable and so generous, that I never have a problem. And once it's filled with all of my stuff, I still barely know it's there because it's the bag is so lightweight to begin with, and fits so well on me. Can't wait to try the Midnight Green this fall, it looks gorgeous! Thanks again Kipling!

This is a fave of mine which is why I have collected it in 9 colours; and I'd have more if I could find the discontinued or sold out shades. But there's always the future. It's an extremely practical bag and yet it's adorable/attractive. I have to carry 2 smartphones now and I can organize all my necessities in this bag. It's extremely helpful that this bag is lightweight but very well made & virtually pick-pocket proof too I think. I'm sure my iPad would fit although I haven't used it for this yet. It's water resistant & washable. I do carry some very expensive designer bags that are stunningly beautiful and yet, I happily switch (frequently) back to one of my Kipling Defea satchels. It's also ideal for outings with my young son. I am a HUGE fan of many Kipling bags, and the Defea satchel is one of my all time favourites!

Love this bag!!!
I have a 2year old son and he dosen't ride his stroller anymore.
So i have to carry some baby items and still had to be hands free.
This is just perfect.
This has become one item i can't live without..
Totally worth the money.
At first i thought it was a little pricey,
But this bag is a trully lifesaver.
I regret buying several diaper bags before i bought this one.

I own this is in beige (2), black, brown. pink, and purple. Outside pockets give easy access to credit card case, train tickets, cell phone, lip gloss, keys. Inner back pocket is large; other inner pockets prevent searching constantly for pens and other small items. Dual handles are nice...wish the shoulder straps were about 2" shorter to balance weight on hip rather than spine. I throw these in the washing machine, line dry and they come out great. Fit an amazing amount of stuff without taking up too much room on lap while sitting on crowded train. BEST BAG EVER. INDESTRUCTIBLE!
