Well, I'm back, and I DID get the DEFEA in True Blue! The size is perfect for daily use. It's got plenty of room for toiletries, my PIXI wallet (matching True Blue), sunglass case, and paperback, with room to spare. (Hey, you can probably fit a Chi, a Pom, or a Pug puppy in there.)There are plenty of options to organize (I'm a bit of a freak here). Currently, I'm using the left, front pockets for cellphone and car keys; and the right, front pockets for my assorted lipsticks, lip gloss, small mirror, etc. - you know, for that quick touch-up.The side pouches are also great for quickly slipping in your cellphone, keys, or sunglasses; and not have to worry about them falling off (Velcro, baby!).The full-length, zippered pocket in the back is great to stow away the optional cross-body strap - which, by the way, has the perfect width, as it does not dig into my shoulders - Yay! It's also perfect for snail-mail/letter-sized envelopes, without having to fold them in half.I love the dual-carry handles for a quick grab, when I'm on the run. The shoulder strap gives you the freedom to browse, or shop around, hands-free.The DEFEA has quickly become one of my favorite Kipling bags. :)Oh, by the way, I just bought the FAIRFAX, for the more subtle look at the office. I can't wait for it to arrive...

This bag (13"x 9.5"), i thought, is perfect to fit my A4 size file (12" x 9"). Very disappointed as this bag measures exactly 12" (lesser at the top) x 9" which leaves no allowance to avoid crumbling my file.

This bag is fantastic! Every time I've tried to change out this handbag to use another type bag, I always go back to this one - now I just use this style all the time! I have 5 - sapphire green, bright pink, watercolor print, starry print, and silver metallic. Now when I change bags, I just change to a different color of the same bag. I am constantly getting compliments on this bag. You won't be disappointed with this one!

i bought this bag as a camera bag, i put in a padded insert for the camera and its the perfect traveling camera bag. looks like a purse, but can still hold my DSLR camera and several lenses and flashes. perfect size!

Wear it as a back pack

You can use this as a back pack. Pull the shoulder strap to it's fullest length. Undo one side of the shoulder strap. "Sew" it through both handles. Now, lift the bag by the left and right shoulder strap, with the handles at the center point of the strap. The bag should be hanging by that center point. The mount it on your back just like a back pack! Adjust to your comfort accordingly! I also have a phone case with a clip that I attach to the many "snap" on areas of the bag!

SO cute and stylish, while being very functional. I was looking for a cute, light bag to carry my iPad along with my regular purse items, and this bag fit the bill perfectly!! Absolutely perfect design with tons of pockets, sits well cross-body as well as over the shoulder or on my elbow...LOVE!! Perfect for running errands with kids, too!! This was my first Kipling bag in True Blue, a beautiful blue that is perfectly neutral and goes with everything! I have since bought 8 more Kipling items, some for myself and some as gifts, and everyone loves them. I can't say enough how much I love these bags!!

Great Bag

I am a handbag junkie; however, I end up hating most bags I buy. I love this bag! I have it in three colors and and I'm planning for a fourth! It's a great size with lots of outside pocket which are essential for me. I'm not small and the adjustable strap fits cross body which is a plus. The only tiny, tiny complaint I have is the velcro pockets close so well that they are a touch hard to pull open; so I don't use them for things I need often. If you're thinking about it - buy this bag!

The Defea is brilliant!

The Defea bag is brilliant! I was already a lifetime fan of Kipling bags, owning 2 Becky, a Fairfax, Haley, Aly, and a Morrisey, but the Defea is probably the most useful in terms of every day. The size is not too small, and not too large, and the various compartments makes things very organized. Also, I'm a plus size woman who likes to wear bags cross-body, and it's difficult to find straps long enough for me, but Kipling's straps are adjustable and so generous, that I never have a problem. And once it's filled with all of my stuff, I still barely know it's there because it's the bag is so lightweight to begin with, and fits so well on me. Can't wait to try the Midnight Green this fall, it looks gorgeous! Thanks again Kipling!

This is a fave of mine which is why I have collected it in 9 colours; and I'd have more if I could find the discontinued or sold out shades. But there's always the future. It's an extremely practical bag and yet it's adorable/attractive. I have to carry 2 smartphones now and I can organize all my necessities in this bag. It's extremely helpful that this bag is lightweight but very well made & virtually pick-pocket proof too I think. I'm sure my iPad would fit although I haven't used it for this yet. It's water resistant & washable. I do carry some very expensive designer bags that are stunningly beautiful and yet, I happily switch (frequently) back to one of my Kipling Defea satchels. It's also ideal for outings with my young son. I am a HUGE fan of many Kipling bags, and the Defea satchel is one of my all time favourites!
