6 Women On What Motherhood Has Taught Them

At Kipling, our office made up of about 98% women and 65% of them are moms. That being said, you can imagine that we have become experts in designing diaper cakes, decorating onesies, and quietly assembling in a conference room with cupcakes and confetti in hand.

With Mother's Day right around the corner, we thought it was the perfect time to honor some of the moms who inspire, motivate, and teach us every day. Needless to say, our co-workers were more than happy to share how motherhood changed their lives. Here's what they said.

"Being a mom has taught me that a lot of time I have to be the grown up in the room. I've changed because I am responsible for helping to mold another human being. I've also learned that no matter what, you will worry.  Literally, every day, all the time!"

-Towanna, Allocator

"Motherhood has taught me to live in the moment.  Motherhood has taught me laughter is the best medicine. My daughter brings me back down to earth and reminds me that life doesn’t have enough tutus and glitter to go around."

-Kathy Vargas, Art Director

"In a wonderful way, being a mother changes your priorities completely. It has taught me to live in the moment and never worry about the little things. "

-Noemi, Designer

"Being a mom has taught me to make the best decision you can make today. Don't look forward with worry."

-Claire, VP of Sales

"Taught me patience and to enjoy every moment. I also learned that you can't do it alone. It truly does take a village. You need a support system of grandmother's, sisters, cousins, and friends. "

-Priscilla, Marketing Director

How motherhood has changed your life so far?

"The biggest change so far has been physical for me.  It’s amazing how your body changes and what it goes through during pregnancy.  Sometimes I can’t believe I’m growing a little human inside of me and then I’ll feel her kick and it’s the most incredible sensation!"

-Kelly, Merchandiser

How you think or hope it will change in the future?

"The future will be drastically different from my life thus far.  My world revolves around the little one already during pregnancy, and I can only imagine what it will be like once she’s here.  I just cannot wait to watch her grow and become her own person!  I have so much to teach her and learn from her as well."
